Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

CLYDE BEATTY CIRCUS #2

JUST SOME OF THE GIRLS
Kay Hanneford, Dollye Green, unknown, Colleen Alpaugh, Vanda Joanides, with Penny down front. Penny mentioned that Dollye was a Barbette girl & this was her first year.

BACKYARD SNAPSHOT
This is Red Copley, Dollye, & an unknown clown. Talked to "Uncle George",(you know he's not too fond of that nickname), and he said there were two Aerial Bar Acts the first 6 weeks, one was Georgie Voise, Red Copley, & himself, the other was Harold & Jack Voise, & Jim Olson.

can anybody tell me, who was the boss canvas guy on Clyde Beatty in 52? I mention him in my forthcoming book, Fall of the Big Top, and I'd love to have his name. I recall he was well dressed, even with tie? Maybe in his '30s, he stressed the importance of always getting the tent up as soon as possible, due to unexpected weather.
