Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

FIRST IMPRESSION #9 : HANNEFORD FAMILY

I think of all the entrances I've seen through the years, few could equal those of the Hanneford family in the 1950's & '60's

PRINCESS TAJANA

On Polack Bros. Circus 1959 surrounded by Barbettes Aerial Lovelies.

THE GEORGIANS
Also Polack Bros. '59.
I really feel sorry for people who appreciate the best of everything in a circus act, and never saw this one. The Georgians had it all.

the georgian entrance was so spectacular you knew you were going to see something special before they do anything. why don't today's performers try anything like that?

Because most people today don't have any imagination...and to be honest, it is hard to make a great entrance when you are in a huge display and given 3 minutes to do your act...something has to give and its usually your entrance...
