SHERMAN SHENANIGANS WITH CHESTER & JOE
It looks like everything is normal in the Sherman Brothers dressing room with a little "discussion" going on.
HOWDY, MY NAME IS BILL STRONG, I'LL BE YOUR "24 HOUR MAN", ROUTING YOU INTO THE PAST TO SEE WHAT THE CIRCUS WAS IN DAYS GONE BY. IF YOU'RE LIKE ME, AND MISS WHAT IT USED TO BE, THEN COME ON ALONG AS WE GO DOWN THE ROAD FOLLOWING THE ARROWS BACKWARDS, TO "YESTERDAY'S TOWNS"! IF YOU HAVE CIRCUS RELATED PICTURES YOU WOULD LIKE POSTED, SEND THEM TO,,,,yesterday1@verizon.net,,,,AND WE WILL TRY TO FIT THEM IN. "24 HOUR MAN" WILL HAVE THE FINAL DECISION ON POSTING.
Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

Very nice footage of Chester and Joe from a Polack Bros. season; the big heads were part of a spec number designed and directed by Barbette (Vander Clyde aka Vander Clyde Broadway, a famed aerialist who fell, never returned to the air, but choreographed for Ringling then Polack and others. He traveled on the road trips with Chester & Joe and was a dear friend of theirs.) If memory serves me, other clowns on the same season were Harry Dann, Billy Griffin, and Peluzza. Maybe even Bobby Kellogg. I'm enjoying your pages. - Verne Langdon
Thank you Verne! Maybe you noticed my p[post today that Joe is in the hospital in Cincinnati, naturally we are all pulling for him.
Type Vander Barbette into Google, it's very interesting. I'm trying to get someone interested in a movie of his life.
