IF YOU'RE LIKE ME, AND MISS WHAT IT USED TO BE, THEN COME ON ALONG AS WE GO DOWN THE ROAD FOLLOWING THE ARROWS BACKWARDS, TO "YESTERDAY'S TOWNS"! IF YOU HAVE CIRCUS RELATED PICTURES YOU WOULD LIKE POSTED, SEND THEM TO,,,,yesterday1@verizon.net,,,,AND WE WILL TRY TO FIT THEM IN. "24 HOUR MAN" WILL HAVE THE FINAL DECISION ON POSTING.

Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

HOW ABOUT AN OVERNIGHT JUMP, WE'RE GOING BACK 65 YRS.

This is just a little single fold program, but get a load of the content. Well worth the trip.

The trip home will be cheaper because fuel was probably about 15 cents a gallon.

I was just re-reading a comment by Barbara Byrd in the July/August issue of White Tops in which she was complaining that the price of diesel fuel for the Carson & Barnes fleet had risen to an average of $1.80 a gallon. During the 1999 season, the circus had never even paid a $1 a gallon for a fill-up. It's hard to see how Carson & Barnes--or any performer for that matter--can stay on the road with fuel, insurance and food costs escalating more every day.

Addendum: I was reading Barbara's comment about the price of diesel fuel in the July/August 2000 edition of White Tops.

Emmett Kelly, Otto Griebling and an all-star alley like that?!?

WOW! That must have been one hell of a show!

And, yes, the price of gasoline is killing us all. I'm not doing any fairs this summer and am staying with a one or two state radius for the rest of the season.

If it weren't for my clown hospital program being fully funded I'd be in real trouble this year.
