Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN: IN MEMORY OF OUR GOOD FRIEND, JOHN "CAMEL JOHN" ROUCHE

THERE IS AN OLD NATIVE AMERICAN SAYING, "AS SURE AS SPRING FOLLOWS WINTER,,,,DEATH FOLLOWS LIFE"

I received emails today from both Fatima, & Penny informing me that our friend of over 50 years, Johnny Rouche past away this morning,(December 01, 2008).

I understand there will be a private funeral at The Palms, but have no details.

THERE WILL BE A MEMORIAL SERVICE AT SHOWFOLKS ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 14th, AT 5:00PM.

Though our paths seldom crossed in later years, he has remained a cherished friend, considered a part of the Wilson family.

If I remember correctly, John worked the doors to the cat cages for Charlie Baumann?

BILL, thanks for posting the pictures of Camel John...Past Sarasota Winters a number of us gathered at BOB's on Central Avenue, Sarasota and John always joined us....He will will be missed....John was always glad to visit with us on the various shows he worked on..I believe he assisted Jack Joyce with that great camel act..Wish others would comment on Camel John. Maybe now he can help Jack Joyce with a new camel act.......

Johnny was a dear friend of the Wilson's. When we were teenagers he always looked after us making sure we didn't get in trouble and watching us around the animals so we didn't get hurt. We all thought the world of him and we will miss him. Rest in peace dear friend. Joanne
