Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

O.K. -- I think I know what half turns are ( on the expressway , right ? )--but that hocks off thingy -- something to do with removing lower legs ??
A "hocks off" is a common trick done by female flyers, they go to the catcher from hanging by their knees on the "fly bar". The other trick they do is an "angel" also called a "bird's nest", unless of course it is a "half angel" which is done from the catcher back to the "fly bar". Then there is the "angel",(or "bird's nest"), to the feet, in this case the catcher catches the girl by the legs instead of the hands,(this catch actually is by the wrists, and not the hands). When the girl is caught by the legs she does a "turn up" back to the "fly bar" instead of a "half turn" or a "half angel" which are done when caught by the hands. Now sometimes the girl does a "cross hand" to the catcher, from the "angel",(or "bird's nest") which turns her around and she is able to do an "angel",(or bird's nest") back to the "fly bar",( usually done under the "passing leap"). I hope you are following this, otherwise you won't pass the "fcatch" test & then you won't graduate!!!!
I think I'm in big trouble !
By the way , it's interisting to note that some of these flyer's terms are very much similar to teamster's terms

It is interesting, we sort of make fun of skate-boarders, & BMX riders for silly names they give tricks.
A little quiz, with what act would you associate the followng?
kip up,(pretty common in most acrobatic acts)--back up to seat--throw up to seat--throw up to feet--pull up to feet--pull down to feet--low feet & hands(also called monkey jumps)--high feet & hands--hands & feet around--hands & feet around the upright(I know most things have been done before but as far as I know that trick is exclusivly mine)--run up reverse--run around reverse--somersault between--somersault over the middle--dive over--top jumps--fly over(that one should give it away)--& the supreme trick for this act,,the flif-fla(I believe accomplished by only two hickory stick artists,(or hoe handlers), an Ibarra, & Pablo Rodriquez.

I never met Ethel Henry. Is she the widow of Glenn Henry, and the mother of Ivan?
In two words,,,,yes,,,, &,,,,no!
Ethel was married to Glenn & they had three children Patty, Shirley,(now married to Lucas Andreas Atayde), & Gary.
Ivan's father was Hap, Glenn's brother, there were also two other brothers, Todd, & Bum.
To give credit where it is due, I got this information from Encyclopedia Herriott!!!! And on that subject I'd like to thank John for the correct answer & nice comment on the Rolling Globe Act on "Quassar's Quiz".
Glen and Eythl had 4 children-- the fourth and youngest is Jimmy.
Eythl turned 91 this year and looks and acts like a youngster
Yes, I forgot about Jimmy, I guess I just didn't know him that well.
