Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

MICHU WEDDING, a marriage made in hell.

MSG.

Movie taken from the back track, notice the center ring opening facing camera (for telescopic net cage).

Notice Rings 1 and 3, ring openings on the FRONT TRACK, so the two end rings faced "backwards" for the elephant numbers.

Once in Houston Bob Atterbury asked Trudy after the first show to face the back, she explained to him that she needed to practice it once. He convinced her she didn't need to practice, as she predicted, since she didn't use leashes, & sent the dogs ahead into the ring the next show the dogs sat on the seats facing the audience.

Hello.. Mike.. It's klsdad and I took the movie.. back track and all!!

Adaline thanked me on Bucklies blog and mentions the year is 1976 - Blue Unit.

I was wondering what animal is on the ball on the high wires.
Looking at the front of the program it look's like it's one
of Ursula Bottcher's young polar bears. I seem to remember watching them lift it up in a cage to the wires.

The highwire act was called the Tzekovi Troupe and featured a brown bear (not one of Ursuala's). Never saw a wire walking bear before and haven't seen one since. I still remember the act like it was yesterday...and it's been 33 years!
