About Me
- Name: 24-HOUR-MAN
- Location: GIBSONTON, FLORIDA, United States
Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

I just enlarged this photo and I change my guess that it was the 1965 show, probably a few year earlier. The chimp pictured is Mr. Moke -- a primate with quite a history. He was purchased from a trainer in Miami and then "chimpnapped" by the same trainer. Eventually the Zoo got Moke back and he starred in the show for several years. His big trick was to write MAMA and then Mike would ask him what he wrote. In a raspy, guttral voice he'd say, "mama, mama". I met Moke after he "retired" (he was tough). In his last years Mike would bring Moke out with another big chimp named Cookie. If Moke tried anything Mike's pal, Cookie would go after him. I heard him say "mama" but I never saw him write -- thanks for the photo.
