Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

ROY LENHART ????????

Recently Buckles ran a photo from P.J. Holmes of a scene on Downie Bros. Circus with Elephant Leaper Rue Enos standing on top of an elephant. The question has come up regarding the identity of a gentleman standing in front of the elephants, if he could be clown & leaper Roy Lenhart, who had an artificial right hand.

The photo below is from the same time period of the Downie Bros. Clown Band, the clown 2nd from the right holds his right hand very much like an artificial limb, possibly this is also Roy Lenhart.
The clown in the center is a young Dime Wilson & his father Gil is in front of him, on Dime's right is Billy Pape who as John Herriott says was a great Elephant Leaper.

BILLY PAPE & CONCHA MORALES
Actually at that time they were Mr. & Mrs. Billy Pape
