Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

CIRCUS MAXIMUS #3: THE STAFF,,,,

When Dobritch International Circus fell apart in Long Beach, California in the Spring of 1968, it left Ringmaster Paul V. Kaye, who already had years experience producing-directing that show, free to pursue a career of his own. In the fall of that year he became Executive Producer & Director of a new show, "Circus Maximus", teaming with long time "Ice Capades" manager Jim Harkins, as General Manager. Since the opening date had already been set for Portland, Oregon they put this fabulous show together in record time, there was not even time to issue contracts. Attesting to the faith acts had in Paul, he merely made some phone calls & many of the acts were enroute that same day.
