MORE MEMORIES FROM NINETTE.
ROBERT BEAUDY
I remember when Baudy had the Grayhound Act, he had a monkey in the act named Herman, possibly a Stubtail Macaque, but he was one tough customer, they used to chain his cage, which I remember being pretty big, to a post to keep him from turning it over. Les Parker used to walk up to him after the act, hook his hand under Herman's collar & swing him up onto his shoulder, and take him back to his cage.

A great showman and certainly the most handsome guy that ever stepped in a circus ring and Baudy"s greyhounds and monkeys will never be duplicated and was one of the world"s great animal acts. His later exploits are well documented but all of us in our time remember hisw greyhounds and monkeys. I am his biggest fan and have always tried to emulate his professional presentationj. Not with cats, but with his riding habit presentation. Other cat act people can copy that part of his career.
Yes' he was sure the most handsome men around, and what a sexy personality. all the woman had the eyes on him, Odette (his first wife) was also quite atractive. I agreed with you Jhonny' his act in that category' was quite a showmen dream.
My husband & I worked for Baudy in Center Hill, Fla. the winter of '80-'81. What is Robert doing these days?

Johnny, I have never heard of this type act before. Was it like a liberty act with dog's? Did the monkey's ride the dog's or were they a seperate act? Thanks
Wade Burck
Dogs did a nice liberty routine, all streched down and then monkeys came in to ride on some, etc. then small stagecoach entered, pulled by two dogs, driven by cowboy moneyy and two monkeys as passengers, followed by four or five greyhounds with Indian monkey riders attacking for a fast rousing finish. Monkey turned somersault on back of greyhound. Baudy in handsome red riding coat, white breeches and english boots. class all the way.
