Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

Listed in the Bertram Mills Book it has “Chico’s Post” Joan Fowles riding the courier at Olympia London 1947/48 winter season.

Summer seasons.
1948 it has listed “Skilled riding with a difference.
1949 Chico’s Post.
1950 Chico’s Post.

I am assuming that this was Joan riding the Courier as Bertram Mills used to contract acts mostly for three summer seasons (and one Olympia) as that’s how long it used to take to tour the whole of England.

Welcome aboard Sue, and Thank You Much!

Off subject: When I'm surfing the TV and run across the "Doo Wop" shows, I stop & listen a few minutes hoping to hear one song, tonight I hit it right on the button. The Tokens are singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", it was their one and only hit, but they sure have gotten a lot of miles out of it.
