TRAGIC NEWS: THE PASSING OF MATT ZAMPERLA ZOPPE

I'm sure by now you have heard of the tragedy suffered by the Zamperla family by the loss of Matt Zamperla Zoppe.
Without going into details, no matter how critical some may be, we must know that the circumstances make the loss even more difficult for the family to bear. We also know that final expenses can be financialy draining on any family.

Those wishing to do so can send donations to:
Mafalda Zamperla
4949 N Tuttle Ave
Sarasota, FL 34234
IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT ALL DONATIONS, IN EXCESS OF MATT'S FINAL EXPENSES WILL GO INTO A TRUST FUND FOR HIS 13 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER ANGELICA!!!!

Christmas is always a time for giving, this one even more than ever. In the Christmas Spirit,,,,In the Circus Tradition,,,,Let's Help!

ON BEHALF OF THE ZAMPERLA FAMILY, OUR SINCEREST THANKS.

I know Matt when he was born. I was holding him in my arms when we were with Big Apple Circus. And through those years, I see him grow up into beautiful great guy. It broke my heart to hear this terrible news. Our sincerest condolences to the family. --Sacha Pavlata & family.

to ardicaroli, before you get too critical with Buckles re: the disposition of Matt's body maybe you should check Buckles' post "plea for help" & see where it came from.

This is a time of sadness and loss. A time to focus in on being supportive of the Zamperla family. At the same time, it is easy to criticize. I find it somewhat disingenuous as well as less than courageous to name individuals on the Showfolks Board yet fail to make yourself known by signing your name. Although, I have not been an advocate of defending Showfolks through the years, for whatever reason, the Board has found it cannot award this act of benevolence to the family of Matt. The motion and intent was there or it would not have been offered in the first place. I am told that Mr. Hill was specific in his desire of how these burial plots should be directed. The Board is legally obligated to abide by this, and could be liable for not acting in accordance with the stipulations in Mr. Hill’s Will. This is a time when the circus community should rally together to support the Zamperla family, irregardless of what Showfolks does or does not do, and reach into their own pockets. Instead of being critical of what others are not doing, perhaps it is a time to look inside ourselves as to what “I can do”.

I am not a circus performer anymore nor am I a member of Showfolks.

Please this is a horrible time for the Zamperla family and also for the Zoppe family. I can imagine their pain and grief is enormous. This was their 22 year old son. Matt also left behind a one year old baby girl. No one should have to bury a child especially at Christmas.

As the families scramble to make arrangements for Matt, let's not make things worse for them.

Matty baby...not many people made me laugh like you did. not many people could bring a true smile to my face like you would. not many people could ride a horse like you did. maybe 1 in 100 million. But NO ONE...could perform like you did. The ultimate showman....you'll be missed by more than you could ever know. In so many ways, no one will ever measure up to you. I'll miss you my friend.

Matt was such a great pesron and will truly be missed. I haven't been in the circus business for a few years now. We were friends growing up. I remember him as a great performer. I am still in shock and deeply saddened. I send my sypathy to all the Zamperla & Zoppe famlies. I lost my father Yaro Hoffmann this year and this will add to another great loss in the Circus world. My heart goes out to everyone.

He was absolutely angelique and always loved. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family. Nothing can replace such tremendous loss and the pain is beyond. Please know so many of us are with you in your grief, sending our thoughts and prayers for your strength to get through...

I am raising one year old son alone, so my heart goes out to his daughter...
They say that beautiful soul, the ones who are born knowing the meaning of love only need to stay here on earth shorter..., but...
Matt has given impact on the lives of many others, and will be remembered and missed.
Much love and peace to all of you...
