Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

IN MEMORY OF MY DEAR FRIEND JOSE TORRES

Will Rogers said "I never met a man I didn't Like", of course what he meant was when he first met someone he didn't know them, therefore did not like, or dislike them.
Ifirst met Jose on Circus Atayde in Mexico City, in 1979, I liked him and his family instantly. A soft spoken, gentle man, with humility, and a willingness to help where ever he was needed, as usual there was no hint of the performer he used to be, I was astounded when I came across the pictures of this little man as the understander in a balancing act. We never socialized, and only met at Showfolks, or when visiting circuses in Sarasota, but we have remained friends through the years, and they have always been some of my favorite people.
