SOME OF THOSE PLUNKETT BOYS

Here are a couple pictures from Eva Williams, of some of the Plunketts, when we were with Gil Gray in the early 1960's it seemed like every town we played, a different Plunkett came to visit. The top photo is Corky, & his sons, Jeffry, & James 0n the Vargas show in the late 70's, the bottom photo of Fuzzy could be anywhere from late 50's to mid 60's, it seems like he was with Lone Star for a long time.

Fuzzy lived with Judy and I for 4 months. Stubborn as he was, he has got to be one of the best animal trainers i've ever met. The patience and care he gave our sea-lions was impecable. Comman sense and a knack for what the animal was cabable of learning were his stongest secrets. He even had the carp in the brewery lake jump thru a hoop!!!

The Plunketts were among my best friends on the Castle show. I don't believe one single man knew more about circus than Corky Plunkett.

I remember playing with James and Jeffry as a child. I think Jeffry was about my age. Are they still in show business? I miss old Cleo.

The last I knew Jeffry does a Comedy Car, James is now the producer of the families circus.

The best party music I remember, was on the Castle Show, with Corky Plunkett on Trumpet, Cleo on Bass, & Dingy, or his son, Mike Ashton, on Drums.
