SNAPSHOTS: JUST SOME ODDS & ENDS FROM THE WILSON SCRAPBOOK
We're going to start out on Rogers Bros. in 1951 and wander back down the road through the years.
DIME CONNIE & THE KIDS
Left to right the kids are Trudy, & Joanne, holding the flags, and Penny in the Majorette costume.
COLE BROS.YEAR UNKNOWN
On the back is written Con Coleno??, so Mr. Herriott what do you say?
HOME STATE SHOWS
Dime seemed to be just as much at home on a midway with his Snake Show as he was in the ring as a Clown. On the back it says Leon, Iowa-- Aug. 4 - 10 (no year), 4-H Club Fair. (We are the 5th joint on left, light top). I tried to get the year off one of the license plates, but had no luck, possibly early '40's.
UNKNOWN ELEPHANT & CAMELS
DOWNIE BROTHERS CIRCUS 1928
Then again this could be on George Hubler's Kentucky Dates.
DOWNIE BROS. FROM A HILLTOP
I was going to title this, "Downie in the Valley" for Jim but thought better of it.
DOWNIE BROS. SPEC
Trudy's grandmother Lil is kneeling 3rd from the left.

I believe you would find that the fellow is not Con Colleano but is Joe Galasso, who recently passed away, when he was with the Loyal-Repensky riding act and the lady to be, I think her name was Esterina, his wife and sister to all the Loyal ladies, Zefta, Albertina, etc. and her brothers would be Guistino and Alphonso. The year of probably 38 on Cole Bros. I could very well be wrong, but I doubt it.
Adolph Delbosq would be part of this circus family as well, as his wife Mary was a cousin and they all came here together. She was more like a sister to them.
Sorry about the year. Instead of 38, more likely 42-44, in that time frame. Incidentally just received word from Cha Cha Meluzzi that Duina Zachinni Norman passed away yesterday.
