Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

SNAPSHOT: COMEDY AERIAL BAR ACT

This rigging is very similar to the one I worked on with the LaBlonde Trio, the only difference is we did not have the extra upper bar that many acts had. Pablo Roriguez, & Ibaras had two. Another difference here is three sets of side spreaders, we had two, flying acts have only one. The purpose of the multiple spreaders was to be able use the net like a trampoline, doing somersaults, and also to enable you to jump down from the bars & rebound back up to them.
It is noted on the back that the picture was taken by, Forest, who is most likely an old time "hickory stick artist", Charley Forest. Johnny told me that Charley worked on the Cole Show with Harold Voise.
