Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

I have been told that Sally Rand, early in her career, worked with Mayme Ward and the Flying Wards. Can anyone elaborate on this part of Sally's career? I know that Sally Rand was friends with Mickey King so she did have some circus connections. Thanks Markeno

Mayme made all of the wardrobe for her show entitled "Nude Ranch" and they became lifelong friends. Both had personalities suited for each other. Mickey King would have fit right in and maybe she did.

Markeno said - Many thanks Johnny for clearing up the tie between Mayme Ward and Sally Rand. It is my understanding that Mickey King did Web in Sally's show at The Nude Ranch. Guess most folks here are too young to care much about this -But for those who do - it has been reported that Sally Rand had a salary of $4,000 per week in 1948 on Hennie Bros. Carnival as the Feature in the Girl Show. Not bad folks. Thanks again Johnny for the info.
