Three years at CWM made me a real traditionalist, and I keep remembering Bob Parkinson saying, "I want the people to see what the circus used to be, not what it is today. That's what this site is about!

SNAPSHOT: HOXIE BROS. CIRCUS 1968

Pat Cashin ran a picture this morning of Walter & Millie Stimax, here's one of Mildred in the back yard of The Hoxie Show in 1968, at that time she was Mildred Hall. She came from the Banta family, and I seem to remember her brother Jack as a Liberty Horse man, her sister Claudine was married to Freddy Conley and they had a Riding Act, & Juggling Act. I remember her mother & father from Hamid-Morton, & the Texas Dates, and they were the type of people who considered everyone on the show as their kids. Mildred was a typical, "oldtime show broad" who was not afraid of hard work, I remember her working the Elephants on Hoxie, among other things. She & Walter had a Chimp Act, in my mind that never is an easy task for anyone.
