73rd HADI TEMPLE SHRINE CIRCUS: EVANSVILLE, IN

These photos of little Obert are from Trudy's camera cell phone,,,,,,,and they laughed at Dick Tracy's wrist radio.

The following pictures & press releases appeared today in the Evansville Courier Express."Mademoiselle Christina" (This is actually Tina & John Winn's daughter Ashley), slides down a zip wire suspended only by her neck during the "Breathtaking Slide For Life" segment of the 73rd annual Hadi Shrine Circus at Roberts Stadium on Thursday.

One of 14 Hawthorn performing White Tigers jumps through a hoop of fire during the 73rd annual Hadi Shrine Circus.

Jennifer Walker puts rosin on her tights backstage before performing in an acrobatic aerial performance.

Naty Frisco, center with orange headdress, who performs in the acrobatic Aerial Web act and also rides the elephants, gets ready backstage with her daughter Nicole, 3, in tow during the 73rd annual Hadi Shrine Circus at Roberts Stadium on Thursday.

Naty Frisco, she is married to Joe Frisco III, who works the Miller elephants on kelly Miller. With that said, are the three KM girls in Evansville? Which other elephant acts does Paul get to top the spectacle? I belive there is a 3 ring display of bulls right?

All three rings are from Carson-Barnes, which ones they are or who is there with them I don't know. I'm adding a picture of Obert that Trudy sent from her cell phone, not sure how it will look.

Great pictures!

I didn't get to go to Evansville, they used the Shrine clowns.

Who used my American Idol gag.

If I can't be there, at least my material is.

Pat, Way to look at the positive of things. I am sure the amatuer antics of volunteering middle aged men in grease paint don't nearly compare to the polished and seasoned talents and materials of your self

You are right about the elephant acts, there are 10 including Obert, and the personel are as you listed. Trudy remarked that young Joe Frisco is doing a good job.

Other news: Wade was clawed on his left hand,it was not real serious except it did get a tendon. He is out of the show this morning but plans on working this afternoon & tonight. The Bear & Chimp display was moved up to that spot for the morning show.

The arena that mr. Burck is using is the same design used by Bruno Blasik(forgive the spelling) on Jordan World Circus West, and by Judit and Juergen Nerger on Geroge Carden Circus. The unpainted metal gives the cage a massive appearance as compared to a painted black one for example. It could very well be one of the above emntioned cage as both of those acts are (or should be) off the road.

Joe Frisco is a superb trainer. He worked for Brett Carden last year as a handler. I met him and and chatted with him quite a bit. His main concern is the welfare of his charges and putting on a good act.

After talking to Trudy I erased my comments about the arena. First, Judit & Juergen might have used that arena since they are also JC's act, however they are not off the road, they are in Hammond, IN this weekend. Otherwise they would be in Evansville.

Regarding that arena, Trudy did use it on fairs before going to Germany,(so much for my memory), which is about 13 years JC has had it.

The tiger did not get Wade down as is rumored, evidently he was bouncing the tiger and either ran out of room to back up, or misjudged the distance. Trudy said the audience didn't even know it happened, he calmly put the tiger away, took a bow & walked out of the arena.

He received about 30 stitches, in his hand, and 18 in his leg. He did not work the first two shows because they had to do a little more work on the damaged tendon in his hand. He is supposed to work tonight.

Stay tuned, but don't expect a film at 11:00.

My apology to Ashley, I was going by the press release, but then you know you can't believe anything you read in the paper.

So then No cats first and second show? Trudy should have stepped in and showed them a thing or 2.
